Taken off driving...

Post by jaylime »

I reversed into a gate post on Saturday and was taken off driving today, even though I was allowed to drive yesterday...
Now been threatened with conduct aswell ??
After 25 years and working solid through the pandemic I have now lost all faith in this company...my fate is to be decided tomorrow.

Been there my friend, this is where the inconsistency in Royal Mail really shines,I had a minor coming together (bumper scuff) got took off driving, had a driving assessment got sent to a couple of offices to do a hct delivery, recently two similar accidents in the office, nothing done!asked why ? Got told he didn’t have to give a reason?.. brilliant!,look forward to the outcome,

Rm introduced a fine based system for each delivery office. Any reported rta results in a 5000 (small van) or 10000 (large van) fine against the office. As a result the unit response is to pull you of driving.

Although the actual agreement aims to keep you driving unless its a very serious accident.

Plus if you have been taken off driving and hold driving sa, like collections you should still attend for them and rm are duty bound to provide you with alternative workload. Its in the agreement.
