Correct procedure to switch office

Post by Jhpknot1 »

What is the official line to switch offices? Job is in the furthest office from home in my town. Only position available when applied. Closest office is 2 minutes away from me. Since day 1 I've asked about a move. Managers have come and gone, latest 1 tells me I have no chance of moving as he would refuse it, this despite other people switching to different offices since he came in? Told we're short staffed yet somebody moved just 2 weeks ago? Is there an official route which can be looked at rather then been instantly dismissed? Fed up of 45 minute drive in then hour plus in traffic on the way home

If there are jobs available & you have served your 12 months probation period, they can’t stop you applying for a transfer. If they do, use the grievance procedure against them!

Log on to success factors.
If a position becomes available you apply.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

OK, just found success factors. Takes me to login page asking for email & pass. Google tells me to use pay number & NI but just keeps saying can't authenticate?

You need to get a manager to put your email details etc on the system.

Try having a chat with the DOM at the office you want to move to. It's possible they might be able to get the ball rolling from their end

We have had staff turn up at our office asking about a transfer as they are getting the same treatment from their DOM when enquiring about a local transfer, I know two people who moved using this route.
Our DOM was happy to help with the transfer request as he gains a new fully trained staff member from day one. Go for it.
