How's it going?
Just wondered how’s it going in DO’s working at a parcel centre at the moment and I never seen so many York’s of them we are snowed under and I just wondered how bad is it out there?

I don't know why someone didn't think of separating the oversize parcels from the main pipeline.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: How’s it going?
Ours has been fine. After not paying out any OT for 9 months it's now pretty much unlimited docket so people are lapping it up and stuff getting covered plus agency doing packets in afternoons.
Half 5 starts and half 1 latest finish so all happy with that.

Re: How’s it going?
Overtime bill must be eye watering. It’s the busiest I’ve ever seen it in my 11 years here. Office is pretty much getting cleared as we can just leave as much mail as we want and concentrate on parcels. I’m just taking half a frame of Mail each day and alternating it and still going over time regularly. Agency staff also doing parcels in afternoon.
3 weeks today it’s Xmas eve. It can’t come soon enough this is hell.

I turn up, I prep, I trundle around with a trolley and I go home. Start time, Finish time. Lots get left. Not breaking my back for this company.
Loads of people in my office running around like headless chickens stressing themselves out. For what and for who I do not know.

Re: How’s it going?
True. I’ve become so accustomed to this years mess that having all the parcels done feels like it’s cleared.

Doing between 1/2 and 2/3 of a run per day plus tracked. Management seem perplexed what to do.
They can't really say anything though as they are quite happy to let others leave over an hour early* when there is still mail failing all over the office.
* For those that say 'don't worry about others', then that's exactly what I'm doing, not worrying. I jut find it a mildly amusing observation that a possible solution to the problem is so close to them, but so far out of reach.

The slight problem of massive york shortages. Hope your DOM has placed an order for a pallet truck rental, as before the end of Xmas pressure, every DO is going to need oneclashcityrocker wrote: ↑03 Dec 2020, 16:55I don't know why someone didn't think of separating the oversize parcels from the main pipeline.
