8hrs to prep and deliver

Post by NewPostieUK »

It took me nearly 8 hrs to prep and deliver my duty today.

A Monday and not even December.

What's everyone doing? Just getting on with it?

It’s chaos in our office. Never seen a Christmas like it in nearly 30 years as a postie. All we are getting time for (neither me or my partner are doing overtime) is tracked parcels, and some letters - not even a full walk of letters. I use a trolley and deliver the letters, but often have to break off to help the driver who is struggling with the huge number of tracked. As for “normal” parcels...well, they are just building up around our frames.

Its day in day out and the management wont offer help unfortunately you have to manage yourself, myself i limit myself to an hour overtime a day thats enough.
if stuff fails it is down to the ineptitude of dreadful management , Pouch off dont make yourself ill physically or mentally ill

Yes always take me at least that at the minute. Started 6:30 finished 15:35 today
We have people out until 6:30 in some of our offices (7:00 - 6:30 - that includes gen sorting, prep and deliver)
one guy 8pm last wednesday with double mail

We all just crack on with it and happy to do so as we always get left alone. busy or not. We have good times during the summer! :nana

6.30am start and 5.45pm finish today. Our little D.O. hit the 1000 mark for tracked for the first time in history. 3 hours 39 minutes overtime for me. I've got no problem with going over, this is the time to make hay and get Xmas paid for. Can see it being like this and possibly even busier in December so I just crack on and get it done regardless of how long it takes.

Won’t go a minute over my time regardless of what happens in the summer.

If you take the average number of Tracked per day that you would normally get, multiply it by 3 and perhaps add on 100-200 and that's probably going to be about what you'll get Tracked per day during the main part of Xmas pressure

Our small SPDO hit over 450 tracked items. Between 7 walks.

It's the calm before the storm with Tracked. It's already starting to arrive in MCs by the pallet load
