I am leaving RM, I have now found my contract that states I have to give 4 weeks notice! The thing is I never signed it and sent it back, am I obliged to honour the 4 weeks? TIA.

Yes you are. By working for RM and accepting the pay, holidays etc that are in the contract, you are deemed to accepted all of the conditions within it.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.
