Tracked with inflight requests method

When tracked items are flagged up on arriving at your DO with inflight requests, how do you process them. Are they left to one side for people in the CSP to deal with or does the person tracking on arrival add stickers etc

Person scanning them in puts the new delivery date on it and leaves it aside for the CSP to process incase it also comes up on the cleo's.

There is 2 options, new delivery date or deliver to local post office, the person who scans tracked in goes to the inflight screen and scan item to see what new instructions are; new delivery date is manually written on and processed into system later by callers office however if it's a local collect sticker is applied and put back into sorting for delivery that day

Scan the next day items as retention using PDA and retain in locker (do not book into SPS). Only items for delivery after the next day don’t get scanned and must be entered into SPS in Callers Office as retentions and stored accordingly. They then come up on redelivery sheet when required. Local collect go straight to Post Office with sticker on.

Our WPC says that even if the recipient is in you still have to scan it as being delivered to their requested neighbour??

Surely that can't be correct?

One of our linos told me that too, seems very weird. And for safe place. So what do you do with the photo. Take one of them holding it?

He is wrong, you should try the customer first, if the PDA shows an inflight request to deliver to a neighbour at their doorstep but they answer just click OK or continue to acknowledge you have read the pop up message but then scan the item as normal before handing it over to the customer. The inflight request should be followed if the customer is not in, please remember to read the message before you click Ok because it will not be accessible again. You would have to change the item to delivery to neighbour to view which address they want you to deliver it to if you did not read the message. The preferred neighbours address should be pre-filled on the next screen

I got told I failed one not so long ago for clicking "No Answer" at the customers door, and no further scans. Had another one a day or two ago, the inflight said next door and next door weren't in either. So I've put "No Answer" the first time and on the second scan (where it told me which neighbour again) I've put Safeplace not available. See if I get told I've failed one again. If we were given training last year be damned if I remember it! Wasn't offered a refresher last time.

callers office deal with them, when they arrive scanned as ready for delivery, then put in aside and taken to callers office to deal with

Two different types of flights, those that need actioning at the DO and those that are for action at the customer's door. Booth being mentioned here which might be a bit confusing for anyone not familiar.

You don't want to get to the door and get an inflight for it to be left at a local collect or an address few miles away.

There's no need to do a separate 'retention' scan, it is done automatically when you scan and confirm the inflight instruction (assuming it's for delivery on another day).

Actually I've just written this then realised we don't have SPS so maybe the procedure does differ...
