grandfather rights

Post by andy hill »

Hi,
When I became a PHG I got the leadership allowance and was told I had to lose the driving allowance.
Following a revision in our office I lost the PHG job but was only paid the leadership allowance for 3 years.
I am now considerably worse off, other staff obviously are getting their driving allowance still.
My Manager told me this was right but it doesnt seem right?

Hi Andy seems tough when looking back, I think this would have been covered by the protection of Pensionable allowances back in 2007, if you were displaced from a job 3 years compensation payment was the max payable. leadership allowance was pensionable, so you would have qualified for the 3 years if you had done the job for 3 years. PHG grade ended long ago maybe 20 years ago.

So grandfather rights are not applicable to Leadership allowance.

You might have some information in this thred on driving allowance, but if you applied for a different job rather than moved to it, I would think that would have ended any grandfather rights.
