I was threatened at work with assault by a senior full time postie on Saturday morning, I am a new part timer. What will happen with the investigation, will they be given a precautionary suspension.?

We're there any witnesses? Either way you should not have been threatened by anyone let alone a senior. Report it 1st thing in the morning and let management decide and if you are unhappy with their decision report it to police.

No .If He’s part time and just started or full time and got 40 years in You don’t threaten someone at work .I would say “ a colleague “ or “another postman” . So do You want to tell us more?

Hope you reported them today, maybe he mentioned their seniority because he feels it might get swept under the carpet because of it.

Personally I wouldn't bother reporting it to the manager who'll probably sweep it under the carpet, if you got witnesses, I would go direct to the Police as such behavior is a criminal matter.

I got the Police on an old bully who thought he could threaten me and get away with it, so instead of reporting it the manager, the police threatened to arrest him next time, since then not a peep.

We had someone pin a colleague against a wall. The one that did it was 'suspended' from our office and moved to another one within a week. As NW says, I'd go to the police as RM managers are probably too scared to do anything.

Wow that's shocking behaviour. Nobody should come to work and have to put up with these things happening. It does happen all to often at Royal Mail.

Police would be an option but I guess it's different in Scotland law than English law with regards to witnesses etc whilst in England the police can arrest on the word of against another ?
