Help with 40 hour week?

Post by Fluke »

Can anyone help me with a query?

In my office we have a rolling day off on deliveries with the Saturday/ long weekend off every 6th week. Our start and finish times during weekdays are currently 0615hrs - 1430hrs, and Saturday is slightly shorter 0615hrs - 1315hrs, this totals as 4 x 8hrs and 15mins during a week day and 7 hours on a Saturday for a total of 40hrs.

The problem is on the 6th week when your day off falls on a Saturday, we appear to be working 5 x 8hrs and 15mins during a week day, which means for that week we are doing 41hrs and 15 mins?

I am working nights at the moment and plan on moving on to deliveries and have only just looked at their hours. I am surprised nobody has picked up on this and I am thinking of challenging the DOM over these hours, but before I do can anyone tell me if I have missed something? I don't want to look a pratt if I have got it wrong. :left:

In our office on the 6th week we just do the 8hrs and finish at that if your unable to complete tough on the DOM he has to get someone else to finish the duty. :Very Happy That's what they get for being a manager!

5 x 8 hours for anybody with saturday off in my office. Also rural delis are all 8 hour days

Urbans have shorter saturday in line with SDD aggrement

We have a fixed day off system and will continue to do so untill its compulsory to have a rotate day off system.

if you have a rotating day off with an hour shorter Saturday you should only be doing 12 minutes a day extra
Over the six week period you would average a 40 hour week (5 weeks doing 12 minutes a week extra, final week 1 hour short)
