I'll be opting out of the political levy as soon as I return to work. 'Sir' Billy of Ginsters is on a totally different planet to the rest of us.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum

mr hayes, you have NO right to fight the other parties wanting to limit the amount of money the unions give to the labour!!! this government (along with yourself, mr ward and the pec) have virtually destroyed our jobs/futures at royal mail. now you have the gall to want to give even more money!! hasn't it sunk in yet billy...... we don't want to give OUR money to the party that is trying to destroy our livelihoods!!! our branch is 200 lighter since the great sell out!!! don't you think WE should be asked first? mind you thats expecting a bit much isn't it? never mind it won't be your problem come the union elections next year will it? regards dongash, one of the 77%, proud of his workmates, disgusted with our WEAK leadership!!!

Branches are not forced to affilate to CLP's, we would all do well to remember that.
Why dont you contact your branch and ask for the current status of affilations.
My view is that any and all money given to the Labour party should be done through the branches/regions in the form of affilation fees and requests for donations for specific things, from CLP's in the branch boundaries.
For example one of the affilated unions who have split there political fund into general fund and affilated fund (not the CWU) has recently donated £100 to my CLP as assistance in the cost of a website using web creator which is the offical software specifcally designed for labour party websites. This came out of a regional affilated political fund rather than from the HQ of the Union in question.
