:funneh Stories about, for and told by Royal Mail colleagues have helped Courier to be crowned the UK’s best newspaper for employees. :left:

The Institute of Internal Communications (IoIC) judging panel bestowed the top prize on Courier in both the Best Newspaper and Best Writing (print) categories at its annual awards – held virtually this year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

We beat off competition from prestigious companies such as Volkswagen Group, News UK and TfL and also came Highly Commended in the Best Single Campaign category for our Sing Into ChristmasOpens in a new window competition, eventually won by postman Petro Wychrij.

‘This is fantastic recognition for the whole company,’ said Courier editor, Paul Smith. ‘It demonstrates the ongoing importance of Courier in helping to inform, engage and inspire our colleagues as they do their brilliant work every day.

‘The success of Courier is down to the contributions of our people. It’s their stories, their views and their brilliance that keeps the content relevant and entertaining.

‘I’d like to thank everyone who has played their part in our stories over the last 12 months and look forward to seeing more of our brilliant colleagues feature in upcoming issues.’

Your September CourierOpens in a new window is out now but Paul and his colleagues in our internal communications team are busy planning the future of the long-running monthly newspaper.

‘We’re constantly evolving Courier to ensure it matches the strategy of the business and meets the needs of the audience. A lot of work is going on to ensure we stay as relevant as possible to our people. There’ll be more news on our future plans soon.’

In the meantime, to get involved in Courier, email courier@linney.com.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

This simply demonstrates that some people inhabit an alternate reality to the rest of us. Anybody ever seen a member of the judging panel drop unannounced into their unit and have unrestricted license to interview those present in private to ensure that the Courier actually reflects the true experiences of the staff?

I read it mainly for the Horoscope section. It's the most reliable source of information about our future.

Ha!! I bet it is? A colleague newspaper that as I’ve said before when I sent mine back for the 3rd time and finally got it stopped, informing them that the pages bares no resemblance to the Royal Mail that I work for, corruption and mis management at its finest, read all about it??? I think not,

I find it quiet funny that there is no searching questions in the letters page anymore, the paper is absolute dross and bares no resemblance to the job whatsoever, everybody's always smiling and so happy to work for RM, the mangers are fantastic, caring and so understanding and now they want me to share a van from Monday what a wonderful employer I work for I couldn't ask for more could I ??????????????? well perhaps Covid 19.

Not surprising. I found it amazing how much they managed to lie with the annual employee feedback. Ours said it had a 97% respondence in our office to the recent online one. That was easily debunked by asking more than 3% of employees that i trusted if they filled in the online form.
