With the volume of letters dropping and Royal Mail offering services such as redirection, keepsafes, customer collection etc. surely advertising these services or maybe campaigning for people to write more letters may attract more business.

Because the income it may attract is a drop in the ocean and As for Personal letter sending, that bird has flown. Where the work is now is Business to Business Parcels and Business to Residential Parcels and of course Customer returns service and eBay retailers collections and add on services. All which are probably done cheaper elsewhere with a few exception.

Because top management have very little imagination, your business is delivering the mail, letters are dropping, what have they done about it??? you run a business and one of your revenue streams is dropping you do what??? think they are just piss poor. When a pandemic strikes and everyone is at home and cant get out, might have been the time to do some ads and remind them when they have the time at home they could write a letter, then when, if it gets back to normal they might have got into the routine of doing it, might not get the numbers but every little bit helps,

Mail Centers helped kill off TPO,s , Final Despatch times went from 8-45 pm to 10 pm while the arrival time at the Inward Mail Center for 1st Delivery remained at 3 am , giving over an hour less to get the despatch,s from A To B ,there was also the problem that if "Mech " Sorted Letters were sent to a TPO for resorting they became" Manual Items " , hence the increase use of Air Services to enable Despatch,s to be MC To MC which resulted in more Inward " Mech " being available for Machine Sorting

I must have delivered over 200 handwritten letters to a new shop that was looking for part-time workers. Not everyone or small shops have access to the internet.

In relation to advertising Royal Mail very rarely promote their goods and services. Like someone said considering that most people will have been sat at home during the pandemic, they clearly have missed a trick.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

They are not interested in growing and creating new products and services. Example:- Every Royal Mail building could have parcel lockers, but no this is not happening.

They only see profit in cuts, which is typical of a once nationalised company turned private.

It's the same old cliché for directors to maximize profits the most fastest and brutal way possible then f**k off!

Given the oh so trendy ''hipsters'' have a love of all things vintage and retro then letter writing could yet make a comeback, you never know...

I haven’t received a Courier in years but if they still do the employee questions page i would suggest asking why we don’t have parcel lockers?

One of the big complaints I had when working in a callers office were the hours weren’t suitable enough. Allowing a customer to pay a small fee and have their parcel stored security stored in a locked would solve that

If i remember correctly , Barrow In Furness had a system where PO Box Holders had access to there Mail 24 / 7 , Items were placed into the Rear of the Box, the PO Box Holder had a Key which Unlocket the door on the front
