Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has only been getting post 1-2 days a week for the last few months?

It's not just me it is the whole street and surrounding areas. Obviously i don't expect a normal working week but i expect some progress at least. From 2 to 3 days a week would be a good start.

Unless you're one of these people who are used to getting lots of post every day it's not that unusual at the moment.

A lot of businesses have cut back on their postings and mail volumes overall are down about a third.

Last week the only thing I got was my payslip and I trust my postman completely because it's me.

I don't know if the OP is a postie or not? If not its largely down to the virus restrictions so some posties come in earlier and do more of the sorting and as a result have less time to deliver. Then the factor of van sharing still not being allowed plus RM will not hire more vans to compensate. As a result some vans have to be used twice in a day. So if your postie is one of those doing the earlier sorting you are liable to get very irregular delivery patterns occurring.
Mail did seem to have dropped off finally but it has picked up again from this Wednesday. We do our best and that is all anyone can do.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

Hello and thanks for the reply, i am not a postie i am just a customer. I know Royal Mail prefer to make things hard than make things easy for their staff, since it went private, so posties have my respect. How are the Special Deliveries being handled now, i would not expect it next day either but how about 2 or 3 days? What is the ETA on special deliveries at this time? The government should step in and help out in some way, they messed up by selling it so they should help out when needed.

Special Deliveries are still next day, but not at a guaranteed time.

Btw be aware that Special Delivery is a particular premium service, it doesn't merely refer to "anything requiring a signature or tracking". The latter may take longer at the moment.

Generally, there are delays at the moment due to restrictions, distancing, and volumes of traffic. But on the whole the service is good. If you have concerns over a particular item, obviously check it hasn't been left safe or with a neighbour, wait a few days, then if still no show enquire using the regular RM channels.

Contact the delivery office concerned, and simply ask if there is a problem with deliveries,he may shed some light on the problem,as others have said, you may not get post everyday but the round your on should be going out everyday,as they have an end of day report to do to confirm this,
