MANAGEMENT TITLES

Having just had a quick glance at the latest edition of the Courier I'm really surprised that they are only getting rid of 2000 managers, you only have to look at some of the job titles to realise what a farce the management structure is, examples are, Val Walker, strategic insight manager, Shaun Davis, global director of compliance and sustainability, Francis Williams, head of commercial, property and central functions programmes, Natasha Edwards, project manager, optimised delivery programme, Mark Edge, head of circulation and labelling, the list goes on and its the same every month. Royal Mail have probably got a special department especially employed for making up
these manager titles its laughable, unfortunately that's probably why the company is in such a financial mess, as they say to many chiefs.

Everyone knows where the money is being wasted but it's like in the 'The Untouchables' where everyone knows where the booze is kept but no-one does anything.

They could get rid of double that amount and it wouldn't affect the delivery of the mail.

The company is a bad joke.

Its so badly run, most of us do a honest days work which is more than can be said for a lot of these management parasites.

It really makes you wonder where they all come from, how they get these so called jobs and what the hell do they do all day. I bet none of them have ever done a delivery.

Absolutely spot on. This is where the wastage is. I bet most of these people do sweet FA, take home a nice packet, creaming off of us. And when they realise the company is struggling, they’ll say WE are the problem and go for our jobs, t&c, so they can keep their good for nothing job titles.

We have line managers in our place whose real job titles would be

Head of strategic relocation of multi-use containers.
and
Director of creative solutions of a non productive description.
and
Knob.

I like Knob, he at least does an honest day's work.

Why stop with 2000 ? Asked by a manager this week have you been issued with a hi vis which I was wearing at the time. Says it all
