This whole thing should be merged but as I say this lot's are not wearing them do I look at them yes I do. I look I don't stare at them I don't say anything to them or judge them for they could be me but if someone said anything to them I would help them in that situation we all don't know how these regulations effect those who cannot ware them this is clumsy regulation by a clumsy clot headed Individual. If you think the PM has done a great job of this open a thread on here and defend him I don't get paid £155,000 a year and a nice house a company car but this is the idiocy of his intellectual meltdown he did not even think about this before consulting anyone. He is a lose cannon and an imbecile at the same time sorry for those who think he is the bee's knee's but on this and lock down failed and though I cannot and will not blame him for all the 45500 to 65000 deaths he sure did not help in a word a day late and a dollar short perfectly fits the description! As for his latest edict it is a cover for his failings the above figures the blood of most is on his hands so we now need masks/face coverings 4 Months after peek infection it is unproven that any covering will prevent the spread prevalence of covid 19 hopefully we will never know but this is not the end it is the start of a sinister manipulation of us all for what you all ask well here https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/ ... r-22411232" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Well I do say this whole thing could have been prevented by isolation centres at UK airports for testing and quarantine but with freedom of travel should the rest of us put up with the hissy fits of travellers and their right to bring a virus home. When man went to the moon in 1969 they spent 3 weeks in quarantine for any pathogens they may have developed even though they we in pressurised space suits not masks with a finger width each ether side of your nose. This is no way to run a county we need commonsense decisions in a timely fashion not knee jerk reactions 4 months to late we need better leaders than this Etonian dinosaur can give us all at is present time!

A one size fits all policy if masks were that f***ing good why were they not mandatory in March?
Not everyone can ware one panic can set in and physical activity can exacerbate the conditions of people.
Anyone who thinks a piece of f***ing cloth over their face will protect them or others is a fool the size of a Covid 19 RNA strand will go through any mask even N95 masks you need a BIO suit and gas mask and change the filter every half an hour.
This is all about making the house bound feel better about coming out and getting back to work.

Masks are to protect others from catching it, they don't stop the wearer from catching it. The government really need to remove all the exemptions. It only needs a single asymptomatic exemption person not wearing a mask to spread covid. Anyone not wearing a mask is a spreader, exemption or no exemption

Sighs.
Okay here's mask wearing for dummies again.

March Lockdown =minimal contact, social distancing, at least 2m, shielding of vulnerable people, shopping when only necessary, no non essential travel, schools closed and all non essential businesses closed.
Assuming you're not a dumbass and you're following those guidelines the need for a mask should be minimum therefore the effect it would have on the R number is negligible.

August No lockdown =loads more contact, little social distancing, beach parties, pubs open, BBQs and shopping galore, shielding ends and the kids (in Scotland) are heading back to school next week .
The effect of wearing a mask under those circumstances is greatly increased as is the potential transmission rate.

Think of it like this, in March your wife/husband was sleeping in the spare room so the condom was a little unnecessary although always an option.

Now he/she is doing a sexy dance two inches from your face so it's time to suit up.

Again sigh...

Viral transmission for dummies...

A mask is not about stopping the virus in its base form it's about stopping its means of transmission and by far its easiest transmission vehicle is your snot and saliva. That is what the mask is there to stop, just like a condom stops an SDI by blocking the transmission vehicle... your bodily fluids.

This is all first year biology crap ffs.

Since i am reasonably forced into wearing a face nappy i want to see a government /royal mail/nhs/schools/shops official risk assessment into long term mask wearing impact on my health. I understand that there were some videos, experts who claim that it doesnt reduce oxygen levels and doesnt increase co2 amount. But what about wearing it for a full/half day non stop? What about other bacteria etc who would normally be breathed out but now clings to inside of my mask and which would be probably breathed in again? I am not saying dont wear a mask but i can see the next PPI style claims (PPE now:) arising in near future where no win no fee lawyers calling you asking if i had been force to wear it at work and if i have any symptoms like headache nausea weaker immune system etc? Hope it makes sense?

I imagine there are studies out there. Surgeons can be in surgery for 12 hours at a time wearing a mask
