Anyone else getting really racked off with the way we are being told to 'roll' mail and keep taking double loops each day? I know our 'afternoon' shift are getting twitchy about not going out until 1;30pm in an afternoon once winter gets here which means more mail will be left.

Upstairs really need to get their s**t together and get a plan together before winter comes,as we are barely coping now.

Do the public know how badly they are being treated at present?

Until social distancing gets axed, what can they do?

More staff won't make any difference as they can't have extra staff in the office during the mornings, why do you think they brought split shifts in? :cuppa More vans kinda won't help for the same reason

It isnt rocket sicence, make it so morning staff do 2 walks {or at least 1.5} of letters and afternoons do 2 walks of parcels/oversized. But it cant be forced through 'without agreement'

We've got people on 'later' starts doing 8.40ish till 4ish waiting until 12pm or later for vans to return from the early starters,oh and then getting hauled into the office to explain why they brought mail back the previous day!

I also think in the interest in fairness, that a shift system should be on a rota, one week mornings one week after 12pm.

The people doing lates in my office volunteered and don't have to do it (one person has sacked it off now). The distancing is going down to 1 metre in the offices from next week anyway so it could just be a lack of vans that's the problem soon

Even with 1m distancing van share isn't possible

All you need to do is contact New Malden, Wimbledon, and Kingston-Upon-Thames DO's, our leader Stuart Simpson visited these offices recently and they haven't mentioned any problems to him.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Just been reading a story in the news that it's reckoned that November will be the absolute earliest that social distancing will end and that' assuming that we don't get a second wave. Realistically you're going to just have to put up with it until at least the new year

Our dom mentioned that he's told the powers that be that by October they either need to relax the distancing rules or give us extra vans. There's a group of 10ish happily doing afternoons currently, but that ain't gonna last when the nights starting drawing in. If you ain't got the school run to do delivering till 5 - 6 currently is no different than normal; it's not gonna be that way when it's cold and dark at 4.
