How can you attempt to do any type of revision when we are not working the way we normally do and has been totally changed with this covid 19 , ie posties using there cars , working from home etc , its f***ing  to even mention it , then what if the company get what they want and dutys go so posties are expected to mop up that workload and would they be another revision ? im guessing NO , and imo this is a desperate money saving revision and thats it.

I have a niggling concern that high up bosses are looking at offices that are coping remarkably well through this, and I salute them for their efforts, but they are wanting hours out of them that they aren't using.

Just seen the latest cwu update. How can they have revisions locally when a 37 hour week hasn't been agreed? Or are we to assume these revisions will be based on 38 hours and the extra hour (should we get it agreed) will be deducted in some way in future?
Surely it has to be all (nationally) or not at all?
As for VRs he mentioned surplus so does that simply mean where they cut the number of duties thus leaving 'surplus' staff?

We are failing around 1/4 of walks every day. Good luck with a local revision.

As Royal Mail aren't stupid and have been operating a recruitment freeze for six months and filling resourcing gaps in mail centres with casuals there will be very little surplus.

If you were cynical you could say the union is complicit or at least silent on this because existing long term members are a better cash cow than chasing new starts to join.

It is of course an incredibly short sighted approach because the demographic of the business and the membership just gets older and older.

In order to claim victory you first have to show what defeat might look like.

The bleaker a picture Royal Mail paints the prettier a picture the union can paint when the deal is finally done so it's in the union's interest to allow the business to continue to scare the members as much as possible.

Every agreement we've had has had a section on culture change, dignity, respect etc.

They would have been as well writing it in Klingon with invisible ink for all the f***ing good it's done.
