Like most things, it will be based on some offices that have the ability to do so, then forced upon the rest with a 'just wing it' directive.

Can't see it happening, in MCs it would just increase the frequency of failures

So no recruitment is currently going on, a large amount of sickness or self isolation, many Posties can't drive which means inefficiencies, .....then the shorter working week comes in....

Would be mayhem. It would surely have to be delayed until this pandemic is over and a new revision is done.

The 2nd hour of the SWW was subject to the implementation of the results of the trials as well as ongoing efficiency and operational changes and an agreement on how it could be funded. It was also tied to the pay review for April 2020.

Be careful what you wish for.

This is where the CWU lied and mugged themselves, no savings were made so no hr reduction.
That's my tiny mind opinion of it.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Did we ever get a vote if we wanted the shorter week ? At the end of the day you will be doing more work in less time ?

Kind of.
It was all bundled up in the Four Pillars agreement so you buy the car you take the seats and steering wheel with it.

At the end of the day you will be doing more work in less time ?
It was poorly implemented and the union allowed too much local s**t to go on but in theory it shouldn't mean that.
