new way of working agreement ?

can any rep or higher up help as I have the question in our area and nothing ,so is there a new agreement at a national level to save money for the company ? as we have been told in our office that we don't have the hours or money to pay you to complete your dutys , so everyday there are a lot loops of mail / pkts / parcels being left in frames until the following day and it just rolls on everyday , and I think personally this is a piss poor service to customers and a s**t way to work and when you look how busy we are its a f***ing joke , and to top it off we have just got the contract off Parcelforce as the company have said they cant cope ? and we can

when mail etc are failing everyday .

My doms told me the same, everyone to work contracted hours only, if we have to leave jobs/bring stuff back then so be it.

My office failed 6 walks today, although all of the packets were done (small ones included) so it ain't so bad.

Working to my time suits me just fine.

Let the CEO guys deal with it they are 'experts' in their field.

this is why I was asking as I think it is a s**t way of working and was wondering if the cwu are aware of what is going on regarding this , as they are constantly bleating on about delivery figures , when you know its all bullshit and its obvious they don't give a s**t about the customers or the service .

same at ours they don't have the hours or money for overtime/days off etc. DOM and rep says that ofcom are letting them fail upto 50% of mail/packets during the current pandemic and social distancing still in place. once its back to ''normal'' it will be a different story.

cheers for that , so they are using this coronavirus to fail and as a money saver which is disgusting imo , well once it or they decide to go back to normal , they can f**k off im not interested .

At least your rep let's you know what's going on , our rep / area rep are a waste of space

We can get overtime in our office but only if you clear the walk. Only problem is, most walks are totally snowed under with mail and packets so no one can have it even if they wanted to. Our office was hit pretty bad with people going off sick right at the start of all this and we are yet to recover.

We've had some voluntary shift changes in our office. Some now come in at 5am to start packet sorting and do some delivery, they finish at 12:30 (or around that time), then others who have volunteered to come in and do afternoon come in at about 12:00 and finish at 17:00 o 18:00 depending on contracted hours. The rest are sticking to their usually 06:40/08:30-14:10 schedule.

Some walks still full or partial failing each day. DOMs idea seems to be get the tracked out, then when the mail piles up, get the mail out. Now that all the packets have backed up, DOM called us all to a meeting this week and told us that we must do more to clear packets. So, all our fault again, even though it was DOMs instruction that got us into the mess.
