Hi have any full timers changed there start time to the afternoon.
Also can a full timer confirm whether in their contract it’s states whether they can have their working hours changed?

your hours can be changed. don't know the exact wording but as i remember the rep telling us your contracted hours are the amount of hours you are contracted to do. it means if you have a 30 hour contract for example, and you were say '9 till 3',... 5 days a week, they can change this to say 12 till 6, ....5 days a week. as you are still getting your contracted 30 hours. they have to give you 28days notice though. i am sure i will be corrected if thats wrong.ViperF wrote:Hi have any full timers changed there start time to the afternoon.

I suppose you need ft to do ips which doesn't make it worthwhile for RM to make you start at 12 /1ViperF wrote:Hi have any full timers changed there start time to the afternoon.

No contract states the times of employment only the hours you are employed for.

What's the general consensus, are RM going to invoke the 28 days notice to change attendance times?

I’m full time and starting at 12 every other week. Walk is thrown off I just bag up and go. It was voluntary due to a lack of vans(obviously).

But that only shows the possible hours - that’s a 20 hour contract, 5 days a week (so 4 hours a day) but says hours are between 6.30am and 5.30pm.Janet Brum wrote:HA1 wrote:No contract states the times of employment only the hours you are employed for.

I have a feeling most contracts will say something similar.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

IF anything is going to change i don't think it will be a nationwide change of hours, every office will have to be looked at to see what resources are needed at what times. I personally can't see us going down to a 5 day letter delivery service at the moment but i can see some sort of split shift coming in.Cucumber wrote:What's the general consensus, are RM going to invoke the 28 days notice to change attendance times?

Long term I reckon it'll be a 3 day delivery span for all letters and flats. RM could have one, maybe two sites processing all letters with all other MCs having IMPs, iLSMs, CSS and T2K machines removed and packet sorting machines installed.A2B wrote:IF anything is going to change i don't think it will be a nationwide change of hours, every office will have to be looked at to see what resources are needed at what times. I do a job share ,a few years back a new DOM decided to cover my three days ,.over 4 or 5 , I got the union involved, and they agreed that the job share was royal mails idea and they had to stick to the original hours of work .

Is the contract we were issued at the start of working for RM still valid?
I thought that each time we have a new pay deal the terms of contract change to reflect that, as long as they give you the required notice of change of hours/days and it is applied fairly
then i don't think there's anything to stop it.
