I was wondering if anyone knew what the current full time to part time ratio is for those working on delivery?

Thanks

This information does not specify if there is a ratio for delivery. But does imply their is no set percentage. I assume Agency/casuals would be included in the mix

From the AGENDA FOR GROWTH, STABILITY & LONG TERM SUCCESS - January 2014

2.7.5 The overall resourcing model for the Employer’s ongoing business strategy and its operations will continue to be based predominantly on full time employment supported by part time employment. The agreed resourcing mix will be reviewed annually and the employer will provide the CWU with quarterly data establishing the actual resourcing mix at a national and regional level

Edit; just found this post;

The current rate is 71 % and 29% full time / part time. With over 125 revisions still to go the belief is that it will be closer to the agreed figure of 75/25.

The reason why it does not say 75/25 in the agreement and simply says the overall resourcing will remain broadly the same is that it is a legal agreement and what if for a variety of reasons it slipped to 74% they would be in breach and we could use our legal readdress. This is why we have agreed under 2.7.5 to review it annually and the employer will provide quarterly data regionally and nationally.

In the South East Royal Mail Geography we have made up 704 fixed term contracts to permanent and of them 244 were full time.

When there is a vacancy be that full time or part time the national agreement which is known as the Stoke Agreement is activated and a discussion takes place based on the traffic and workload. Equally within the new agreement which is copied from the **Job Security and resourcing agreement it allows those Part timers who are doing on a consistent basis more hours on their own duty. PSP does not identify whether this hourage is against a regular duty or say a belated and this needs to be Identified.*

3.1 The overall resourcing model for Royal Mail’s ongoing business strategy and its operations will continue to be predominantly full time
supported by part time employees. The overall national mix is expected to continue to be three quarters full time and one quarter part time.

This. What’s the betting London offices are on 100/0, the rest of us on 50/50? We also have PTers on 20 hour contracts who have been working FT rounds for years. Managers are also now saying if you get made up to FT, it’s a 35hr contract as “that’s what all FT contracts will be in a few years”!

Well your rep is a waste of space. Bin him/her and elect someone that will be there for yous. RM and other employers are so winning the divide and conquer war. RM used to be a good job as anyone with a bit of time in will tell you but it's organic now and will get a lot worse very soon.

35hrs has been regarded as fulltime by RM for the last couple of years, i've posted previously that i was told nobody will have their contract increased beyond 35hrs (if they are lucky enough enough to get an increase at all) but others have posted that that is not the case!

As FT staff leave they are being replaced by PT staff and the office is expected to take up the slack, hence why a lot of offices fail on a regular basis.

You’re usually the one with all the answers/fairy stories
“Shorts,in this weather?!”

“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”

“What’s she been ordering now?”

Speak to your line manager / rep? But if any hours can be put into the office, they go according to seniority, so the most senior part timer would get them.

I did it just prior to the twice yearly review of hours that is supposed to happen automatically in March and September (according to previous RM/CWU agreements), so
now is the perfect time to do it.

I actually put it in writing to manager with a copy to local CWU rep (as conversations tend to get forgotten :cuppa ), documenting over the previous
year what hours I'd worked above my weekly contracted hours.

I sort of provided them a solution without them having to think about it too much in as much as I requested being made up to the average
of weekly hours above current contracted hours (as I knew I'd never get the maximum) - and it worked.

:Applause :Applause :Applause Well done

This is the example for all of us to learn from. Being proactive, doing all the legwork and providing a reasonable solution that doesnt require much work for anybody else. Your manager will still have had to seek approval from his boss and they dont like to increase anyones contract.
