I can only guess that members in other offices have advised to submit any possible o/t they feel may need to 'before' they leave for their duty...? A guesstimate....they may need to add/subtract what they submitted on their return to office.... but if they haven't put themselves down for any and they actually have done the work on o/t... then we are being told that we simply won't get it. On returning to my office today I find every frame with a form requesting every member to sign it.... and by signing it we are 'on board' with this. I was always lead to believe that whatever you worked you got paid for. Please tell me that the Union ain't in agreement with this sh*t...? Many thanks....

Just always overestimate by a good 30mins ,just in case. With more people now going back to work, it's taking longer to get rid of the 30(+)% increase in packets. Nobody can estimate to within 10 min and not go over. Always over estimate.

Cheers folks..... most of the staff are in the know about always estimating before they leave, it was more the form they wanted us to sign acknowledging we would lose it. I was only checking that I hadn't came out or a coma and we were all to do this. Needless to say its obviously management chancing their arm again. Thanks for advice and zero staff signed it anyway...

We don't have anything on paper in our office, those that wish to stay out to complete speak to manager prior to going out, and those who do not wish to go over inform manager that they won't be able to complete.

No overtime in our office, been told to bring back what you haven't got time to do, won't let us book it, thought this was everywhere.

I keep seeing this on here and it bewilders me. Our office is ran on overtime, without it not many duties would complete. Getting paid for the overtime has never been an issue.

I guess everywhere is different, last week i got paid 2 hours OT i guess the DOM actually looked at the PDA actuals. I never filled in the docket although I've only seen it 3 times in the last 8 years.

I generally never do overtime.

They must work in a very easy office if no ot paid. Ours like yours would grind to a halt, and thats not just in covid times.

That's what happening, bringing mail back or not taking it out at all if you know you're not have time to finish. Then you start the next day with yesterday's mail & so it goes on & on. But still if that's what RM want that's what we'll do until it grinds to a halt as you say.

Can't get my head round this. So you claim overtime before you complete your duty. Surely this tantamount fraud claim if you were to finish earlier. Why can't you just claim it when you return to your office at the end of your duty and its then signed off by your manager. I work at Parcelforce this the practice we follow.

No it is not If you feel you cannot complete your duty for any reason it is up to you to say so as soon as possible if the manager's argue with you they are part of the problem ask them to do the job themselves while you drink tea and have a nap or two!

It's not claiming the OT before you go out, it's putting an estimate of the OT you MIGHT need. Apparently this enables your manager to put a total
estimate in to the higher ups. The requirement to do this will be compulsory for a couple of weeks each year when it's the
DOM's pet topic but then gets forgotten about for the rest of the year. You actually claim what OT you HAVE worked at duty completion.

When this happens I always put down at least an hour as an estimate and adjust accordingly at the end.
