This may already be a known rule, but what if any are the T&C for retiring F/T, returning P/T and at what seniority level.

I looked into it just before I was medically retired and if I wanted to return I would have to wait 12 months and be able to prove that I'd fully recovered and my condition would no longer be an issue.shayanboon wrote:This may already be a known rule, but what if any are the T&C for retiring F/T, returning P/T and at what seniority level.
Have heard in the past of managers retiring then coming back into the job as OPG's.
I think you loose your seniority but if you wanted to go P/T then I suppose there's always the option of asking to reduce your hours. A good friend of mine did it a year or two back.

Only unbroken service counts towards senority, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Thanks TBT so tricky issue regards keeping associated known walk with the present OPG in situ if dropping to a three day week option. Apologies for delay.

If your service is unbroken between FT and PT you keep your position on the seniority list but by going down to 3 day a week you limit your options. Not knowing the local arrangements I can only suggest going to see the Union and see what they could help withshayanboon wrote:Thanks TBT so tricky issue regards keeping associated known walk with the present OPG in situ if dropping to a three-day week option. There is no definitive list that applies in all cases but a rep could make a good case for someone who left on compassionate grounds, and the situation has now changed and they can return to work.
