Light Duties
Have been on light duties for 4 weeks following ATOS recommendations, this week i was put back on my usual duty without anyone asking if i was ok, this has now resulted in me having a relapse & looks like another trip to the hospital for a blood transfusion. I don't know who i'm most mad with ATOS for not keeping me on light duties until i'm due to go into hospital for tests, managers for chucking me back on my duty assuming i was OK or myself for not telling them i did'nt think i was up to doing my duty
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

A guy in my office has been assigned light duties till after an operation he is to have, then he'll be off 6 weeks. I think it all depends on your manager. You obviously have one of the many jobsworths, my office is one of the few with decent managers. Hope you'll be ok, take care off yourself, unfortunately RM just don't care anymore.

lIGHT dUTIES
I had to go on light duties but my office refused to do it so I went to the doctors and have now been signed off untill I am totally well . Iwas told that the nurse who spoke to me said it was only a recomendation to put me on light duties so they did not have to do it. Well now I am off my doctor will not let me back untill they are sure that I am well enough to do the job as they are fully aware of RM's stage warnings and how they work against the employee

I managed to contact my dr last night, she also is well aware of RM's sick policy & made it clear to me that she is prepared to issue a sick cert monday morning to cover me until i go into hospital in a couple of weeks.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Re: Light Duties
I'm not sure if it is the official way of doing things (perhaps a Rep could check for us?), but where I work, they review your light duties (or Rehab) every week. When the time comes to go back to your normal duties, they phase it back in over a couple of weeks, checking your progress each week. If neccessary, they put you back on Rehab.k66yla wrote:Have been on light duties for 4 weeks following ATOS recommendations, this week i was put back on my usual duty without anyone asking if i was ok, this has now resulted in me having a relapse & looks like another trip to the hospital for a blood transfusion. At least that is what happens at the moment. But they are gradually tightening things up, so that they can force us to work when we are ill.

when you were seen by atos they should have agreed with you what your light duties would consist of and for how long they would last,if your manager as breeched that agreement lodge a complaint against him .if that is not the case YOU should have informed him that you were still not able to perform a full duty and would require to see atos again if he then ordered you on to a full duty you should have asked him to put it in writing, what duties he wanted you to carry out

Normally in your 1st week off the line manager or office manager would ring, but after the 1st week you shudnt really hear anything from them.As you are then in the hand of Atos and Ehs .k66yla wrote:Dr signed me off yesterday until 17th, had LM on phone just now basically telling me i were'nt up to the job even before I was ill, i put the phone down on him! he did'nt even ask how i was, is this a new B & H tactic? telling me i'm crap at my job when they really know how f'ing hard i work

Your line manager has to be careful.k66yla wrote:Dr signed me off yesterday until 17th, had LM on phone just now basically telling me i were'nt up to the job even before I was ill, i put the phone down on him! he did'nt even ask how i was, is this a new B & H tactic? telling me i'm crap at my job when they really know how f'ing hard i work
Your DOCTOR signed you off, stating that you were not FIT for work. Thats is all he needs to know. He is not allowed to ask anything else.
I guess this is the new way of working after the YES vote.

Light duties now theres a missused phrase if your unlucky to get on them in a delivery office!
Shoved on sorting for ages then whisked away off to throw off one of the half dozen walks you`ll be expected to do for the resident gaffers overtime narks who will all mither you as well.
Finish doing the walks usually when all the posties have gone to be either, shoved out in a van taking Specials out to the town centre and all the abuse that entails, out taking the delivery pouches for all the Quasimodo`s who have missed the van drivers as they where having there 25th fag outside,or shoved in the callers office to help lose sorry find some customers parcels.
Or if your really lucky they might put you on the sign offs but be careful to watchout for the Sherpas and mountain climbers on their descent down the mail mountain, sometimes you are `blessed`by having your own staff on the duty and your manager expects you to train them up,which would be fine if you spoke Polish/Czech/Latvian or Englishstan.
I`d sooner take out 20 bags of mail than be stuck inside with the spawn of the living dead.
