This acceptance has the smell of Corruption oozing out of it. I have spoken to lots of people who have all said that no way would they vote for the crappy deal.

So who did !!

Or was it knobbled in some way, to make sure it was accepted.

I personally go for the knobbled version and think that Hayes and Co have to go.

Between them they have left this union powerless, once we all split up into different little agreements there will be no way to harness the outcome, the company now have a lapdog union that will sit up and beg on command.

Crozier could not have done this damage to us, but our own leaders are spineless and have.

If the 40,000 + missing ballot papers were found I think the result could well have been different!

Whilst I agree that this result seems dubious, it's quite another to state as if it's a fact that 40,000 ballot papers were lost. We all know some people never bother to vote, even on something as important as this. You only have to look at the turnout in the strike ballot (which I supported, by the way). No-one suggested that all of those that didn't vote on that ballot must therefore have had their papers go 'missing', did they ?

I cannot for the life of me understand people not voting at all, but they do (or more accurately, don't).

Just look at the turnout for General Elections. It's even lower than either of our crucial votes

Indeed, statistically it was a better turnout than we could expect. It might not be what we could hope - thats a different matter. Besides, all this is like finding your cat has been flattened by a car and then spending all your time walking up and down the same stretch of road wondering why the car did it.

Totally agree ,time would be better spent tracing and prosecuting the driver for this smash and grab, sorry hit and run. Though you would be better off if it had been a dog cos cats are legally termed as free spirits with the right to roam and as such have no legal protection in this case. Oh hang on ,pussy fits.

There was a rumour doing the rounds that after the "Way Forward" ballot, a york full of ballot returns were found in Wolverhampton MC?

I know it was probably just a rumour and accept that the current ballot has been lost, but some times I have my doubts.

It must be all these conspiracy theories that do the rounds. The managers in my office are happy about the result, but we ain't, and the fight for better terms and conditions will go on.

I think alot of posties told their colleages that they were voting No but in reality they voted Yes. In my office when the Yes vote came in alot posties went silent

i was working at birmimgham mail centre at the time , and it wasn't a rumour very true i'm afraid,

Are you all suggesting the 40,000 'missing votes' are all NO votes - I don't think so.
The sad fact is that a lot of people voted YES for a number of reasons, which I've mentioned in another post.
We are where we are, let's get on with it and try and make this union stronger.

It would have made a difference as the Way Forward was only carried by a majority of around 1,400 votes.

And just how many people who say they voted no, really did vote yes??

I think the point being made is the current voting system is inadequate. I think most are well aware of where we are, after all as Reps were the ones having to work with this feck-up, and this union is never going to be as strong as it was prior to these 2 disastrous deals.
