THIS week we asked you to nominate your favourite postmen and women in Warrington.

These unsung heroes are working long hours in challenging circumstances to make sure your post is delivered across communities.

On National Postal Workers Day you sent in messages and pictures of your favourite posties and we have rounded them up.

Tell us about your postie and why they deserve a pat on the back

Our postie is Paul. He works the Longbarn area. He wears shorts in all weathers. He's got to be mad! He has a smile for us all and he's helpful and friendly. He always makes time to share a moment or two if you see him on his round. A great guy doing a fantastic job within our community and that is very much appreciated. Well done Paul. Thank you from the Taylors.

Our postie Paul is brilliant, he does Duckworth Grove, always a big smile on his face, goes out of his way to make sure we get our post. He shouts me if I’m in the garden and has time for the kids, in fact he will make time to chat to everyone. He even asks about my parents even though they moved away five years ago. Such a lovely guy and a pleasure to know.

First of all I'd like to say all postal workers do an amazing job. However my best postie is Kevin Seed. He always goes the extra mile to make sure I get my post and parcels, he is the best.

Les Dovaston has been fabulous over the Covid-19 for our street. Our street is made up young and old. When Warringron post centre was temporarily closed, Les asked if he could deliver our streets post on his way home to help with the back log. This was a very nice thing to do for our street community on Vauxhall Close, Penketh. Thank you Les

My dad is the best postman there is. He has worked at Royal Mail for years and is the hardest working post man that I know! I’m so proud of him for everything that he does, especially during these difficult times. In the picture, he’s telling his grandson all about his daily round!

Lee Caldwell goes above and beyond to help out on extra shifts even gone out of his way to help others like an elderly guy who fell on Long Lane. He sat with him until the ambulance came. He always as a smile and a loving caring nature, he’s simply the best xxx

My uncle John Richardson, a postman in Warrington. He is remaining positive in light of such crazy times. Looking after others and ensuring everyone in the family is ok, as well as delivering post to the public. He is a kind caring man and deserves recognition.

I would like to nominate my partner Paul Wilkinson who works at Milner Street he always works hard and hardly has a day off and whilst this virus has been here he still gets up at 3am every day to go work and help with the thousands of back logged letters and parcels. Every day he is putting himself at risk but still he has a smile on his face. We love you Paul love Jackie & Bradley xx

Jason is our favourite postie. He does the rounds on Wroxham Road in Great Sankey. He always has a smile and a thumbs up for the children. My son made him a picture to say thanks for all of his hard work and gave it to him last week.
