I STILL FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE HOW SO MANY WHO CAME OUT ON STRIKE NEVER VOTED!!!

I JUST WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHY------ 1. COULDN'T BE ASSED???
2. COMPLETELY DISALLUSIONED???
3. WEAK MINDED.???
4. NO FAITH IN UNION???
I CAN'T GET MY HEAD AROUND IT,
ANY ONE ELSE??

dunno ask the not fit for purpose union
they have fu cked up all through the campaign
not everyone had ballot papers
the second wave of strikes they missed off mc from the list
failed to follow procedure for the last set of strikes enabling court to halt them
no communication to members throughout the strikes
people found out more info on here than off the cwu
sh it on members with a cr ap agreement
im sure there is more m8 just cant think of em all
a proper fit for purpose union wouldnt make even one of the above mistakes .... let alone several

I once took action against the union via the certification officer re: my assertion that the union had failed to keep an accurate record of its members and therefore members did not receive ballot papers for the way forward ballot.

I went to the Acas building for the hearing and lost!

Despite the fact that at my mail centre had many members who had not received a vote the certification officer would not accept my argument that on a ratio basis many members nationwide had been denied a vote.

It is very differcult to prove whether a union is not maintaining an adequate membership record system and to prove non-compliance you would have to prove that the union was negligent nationwide.

Branches would have to get together and show records were incomplete.

I have some sympathy with the national cwu as they plainly state in their rules that branches are reponsible for the accurate maintainance of their records.

How many more of this type of posts are there?
The vote wasn't fixed, fiddled, fudged or even fecked up. It was a "yes" vote, carried with a 2-1 majority. That's not even a close-run thing, it's a resounding endorsment.
Going to live in a "no"vote conspiracy theory fantasy land, or deal with the reality of the situation?

Not 40,000, but not far off! There is no way that many would have declined after what has been happening this year.

What some people find is when they contact the Branch, The Branch looks into it and at some point the Voice mag or some other item has been returned to sender, not at this address etc and the person is then taken off the mailing list. Other times the member has moved and not informed the union, as the business used to pass on this information but no longer do. You need to contact your Branch and make sure all your details are correct.

I was away for a few days when the result was announced and I was shocked by the outcome and doubly shocked by the number of non voters. The apathy never ceases to amaze me
