A FIFE postman who dressed up as Elvis did this morning's rounds with an inflatable dog biting his bum to cheer up locals on lockdown.
David Barbour delighted Bowhill residents today by delivering the morning's post with an enormous inflatable dog attached to his rear.
Last week the postie was a hit with locals after delivering their post dressed in his mum’s Elvis costume.
Residents loved David's last costume - complete with black wig, guitar sunglasses and a sparkly white jumpsuit.
But this week he emerged with an inflatable pair of blue trousers - and a big brown dog attached to him.
The dad-of-one said he’s been overwhelmed by the response from those self-isolating due to the coronavirus crisis.
“Everybody was loving it and at least people are smiling,” he said.
But while it was smiles all round today, the Fife postman has his own history with dogs on the beat.
David has been bitten nine times by dogs during his postman career.
“Early on as a postman a staffie bit my hand and punctured it but I can see the funny side now,” he said.
Fans of David’s costumes applauded the postie on social media today for cheering people up two weeks in a row.
One said: “Well done our David. You’re mental but proud of you for doing everything to cheer people up.”
Another wrote: “Well done for keeping everyone smiling.”
The postman has also used his new-found fame to raise funds for cancer research, a cause he said is “close to my heart”.
And with banana, super mario, and whoopie cushion costumes in the cupboard, it looks like David will be cheering people up through lockdown for some time to come.
