When will royal mail be offering these 40,000 redundancies now that people have voted yes?? I want out A.S.A.P. I work in a delivery office that has made more cuts than most, with posties made to sort and take out a round and a third, cover other people when they are off or on the sick. 5 packet turns condenced into 3. People are trying to fit ten hours work into eight hours, then intimidated into not booking their time if they go over. So we have had a taster of things to come and it is very bleek and going to get worse.
I think its about time to leave and I want to take a payout with me. Does anyone know when these redundancies coming because I will be the first to sign up.

If full time posties put in for VR or EVR, RM would make their duties part time when they become vacant and the union may not want this.

What about the posties off sick, will they try and early retire them? another way to downsize staff?

They are doing so already through ATOS and it will get worse with 9 hour days.

But what if a full recovery could be made with time? do they take this into account or do they just get rid us? Early pension lump sum cant be that good, its bound to affect future stuff with pension and mayb make it hard to get another job?

I agree with you but do they :cfo & :lfo for i fear they do not and it could get messy by trying to force people to do walk's who cannot do them!.

Yea, i agree, putting some1 they know who wud be not cabable of doing the offices most heavy walk , then take them down the conduct code!!

I hate to say it but i noticed something in the pay deal to do with the M.T.S.F AGREEMENT as far as i know this is what EVRs and VRs is worked out from.Royal mail wish to scrap this and instead use the governments maximum standards for payouts,which is alot lower than what was agreed in the M.T.S.F. As far as i can see royal mail will accept VRs but not on the terms we might expect.

All the CWU HQ want is the members to pay in there Â£3 a week and shut up and dont rock the boat... Now the fact that RM will make all FT into PT will not bother the HQ/pec As long as the PT pay there subs.... This was in my opinion the last vote for our rights as we know it... From now on so many good posties have had enough and will get out and suffer the payout they get, Move on and TRY and get another job... There still is a fight in SOME offices and good people will fight on... But RM have tied the unions hands now we vote yes...

It will take this union a long time to bring back that solidarity we had with the 77% voters... PROUD MAY WE ALL BE... Then the ones who then voted YES in this last ballot just went out for no reason , In my opinion......

Wot was the point. We all knew RM wouldnt roll over... And we all knew we would have to go again on the cobbles to get what is right... Now in house fighting is all we have.... SHAME but its all down to units to do the best they can....

We've got quite a few in our office doing 'Buy downs' average of 14 grand, and most then do a job share ie work a week, then week off. I reckon we'll be a part time office in the next few months.

14 grand???? for how many years do you have to be there to get that? thats a lot of money!

RM just want people through the door as cheaply as possible . The Personnel Director in Ulster came from Bombadier/Shorts , he wanted 273 redundancies by fair or foul means , he ended up with 474 Tribunal Cases against him. He even filmed a guy who'd put his back out carrying a sheet of metal the size of a snooker table of malingering, the evidence was film of him picking up his baby and had him in the office with a rep.

ATOS 'Doctors " aren't bothered as long as there's no complaints to the GMC or get cited in Tribunals . They're RM Contractors and at the end of the day, the golden rule is not to upset the cilent .

Look at the postie @ Macclesfield who was on a diyalsis machine and light duties doing his round in a van being suspended for wilful delay . The braindead screw just thought he'd get brownie points for getting him on the run .

Most of been 15 years plus, and I think you have to do 2 years after signing up for it.
