First week salary underpaid?

I had my induction on Monday, started properly on Tuesday and I got my first pay slip today and my net pay is lower than my pay rate? Is this because I haven't done the first week or not?

If you've done overtime it's a week in arrears, also make sure you've claimed it

How many hours is your contract and how many hours does the pay slip show you have been paid for, and how many hours did you do in total?

It's almost guaranteed your pay, especially your overtime will be messed up and underpaid for possibly several weeks to begin with, keep an accurate record of all you've done and chase it up.

Net pay is after deductions. Pay rate will be gross.

Also, I think the pay rate on the pay check is for full time, so divide that by 38 to get hourly rate, then multiply by your contracted hours, to get gross pay.

Overtime is paid a week later. If you worked overtime on your first week, it'll be on your second pay check.
