You can ask questions but you'll not get a straight answer , they'll take it away and feed the answer back via the DIM apparently.

Our visitor initially tried to make out that RM are doing us a great favour by taking the larger packets from us. No mention of taking walks out or losing staff. When the subject was mentioned he played dumb. Also said clock machines are coming in eventually but wouldn’t give any sort of time scale other than within the next 2yrs
“Shorts,in this weather?!”
“If they’re bills I don’t want ‘em!”
“What’s she been ordering now?”

Ask him/her why are we being offered a pay rise when this is not part of our dispute?

Same thing in our 'ambassador talk' this week. It was only when he was challenged about the extra delivery points that would be added to each duty as a result of the oversize packets being taken off did he admit this was being trialled.Cedar_Room wrote:Our visitor initially tried to make out that RM are doing us a great favour by taking the larger packets from us. The Spartans had the right idea when it comes to dealing with Ambassadors...

No point asking any questions, they won't give you answers. They read off a script, have a few figures about mail decline etc but ultimately know nothing. It's just a distraction tactic to promote a pay deal to distract us from the ongoing dispute. After 10 mins of speaking at our office, we ended the meeting as he wouldn't / couldn't answer anything put to him.

The ambassador
we had today agreed we would get extra loops added to our walks when we lose anything above shoebox size parcels, but because letters are in decline, you will never notice you have gained a few more loops

Best to give up now on ghosting, saves being disappointed later.cpsteve wrote:If we get a visit i want to know if they are bringing in automated hours because as far as im concerned if they want me to do o/t i want to know what i am getting for it however long it takes me.

We had one but when a postie of 25yrs mentioned that the price increase of postage and parcels had got up considerably over those years, this should well account for the drop in mail volumes and RM should still be well in profit. The postie then said, that if RM are not in as much profit, then someone or some are on the take. The ambassador then moved on to someone else’s question.robbertwhitton wrote:We have a visit due on Friday by one of the 200 ambassadors,(brilliant name)any advise as to what questions and views we should throw at him,in a concise and structured way?rather than just rant and rave,we never see anyone apart from now,so should be a blast!,
It happens in other big companies so why not RM. perhaps someone else needs to go over the books. Sounds like the postie had a valid point that needs addressing.
Any ideas?

We were told by our visiting manager last week that the 1 in 6 that’s being removed won’t be delivering the bulk from our depot (as previously told by our DOM) as it’s not even going to come near our smaller depot, so I’ll be left with having to go to anywhere in the country IF they’ve a vacancy for me. I asked if there’s a distance restriction for the redeployments ie. it’s not feasible or reasonable to drive for hours to and from work and spend half my wage and day travelling across the country to which I was told that if that’s the case then I should look for another job ! Great response eh. As I’ve only been in the job a year and a half and am also one of the last people to start in our DO, I’ll be one of the first out the door. I’m not holding my breath on retaining my job the way uncle Rico and his cronies are running things.

Nothing to do with ghosting , if i do a job i want to know what im getting before i take it on why should a fast postie get less money for the same work.LaggyBand wrote:Best to give up now on ghosting, saves being disappointed later.cpsteve wrote:If we get a visit i want to know if they are bringing in automated hours because as far as im concerned if they want me to do o/t i want to know what i am getting for it however long it takes me.
