Annualised Hours

Post by Dingo99 »

With all of this scanning when starting work and being paid for the hours you actually work, is this the future? My dad used to work at Pfizer and he said they brought in annualised hours for some of their staff and it was a total disaster and they ending up axing the idea!

I believe they are looking along these lines. It was suggested that your duty could be adjusted according to the ancipitated workload. With all this data gathering it could be on the cards.

This is something that they are definitely thinking of. Airports do this with staff for peak season. You will be paid 38hrs every week but in the quiet months you might actually only be in work for 25hrs. The downside to this though is that in the busy period you will be working 55hrs a week but being paid 38

So say you do your years worth of hours in for arguments 9 months, how is the gaffer going to react when you cut off and tell him you will see him in 3 months?

That's hilarious.

You'd like to think they'd run/start the stats just before xmass pressure. But even so, it won't work.

I like the idea in theory, i'm always on the overtime so i'll burn those hours up quick. In practise it's anyone's guess.

Our intelligent managers could never run an annualised hours system fairly or effectively. they would just resort to the usual B and H that they do understand.
