Wouldn’t that need discussing with the CWU before being implemented? Probably not?

Could be a knock-on affect of the proposed MPU closures (more batches to be run by existing machines in MCs - someone's got to get their sequenced later)claystones wrote:Strong rumour going around all delivery offices are going to later starts and later finishes anyone else heard this

We won't want any more SWW if RM, for example, makes all our start times an hour later. RM share price in freefall at the moment so I guess the shorters are up to no good again plus Rico Blacks strategy isn't going so well.

Don't you have to at some point increase share value if you buy a ton of them. Rico bought a shedload when they were worth considerably more.Celgar wrote:We won't want any more SWW if RM, for example, makes all our start times an hour later. I wouldn't say Back's strategy isn't going well, just not currently on target.
I still think he's doing everything possible to talk down the fortunes of the business in order to put pressure on both CWU and OFCOM so he can push through the changes he wants to make... and the shorters are taking full advantage of that and using it to drive the share price down.

Heard the same with us. They want to move our finish times to 3pm Monday to Saturday. Taking the difference from our current finish times to 3pm and putting it on the start times. (e.g if you currently start at 7 am and finish at 1.30 pm they will push it back to 3pm and add the 1 hour 30 mins difference to the start so you then start at 8.30 am and finish at 3pm)

Other than the Q3 results for RM that will soon be announced & by rights should be positive there is no good news for RM hence the drop from 230p to below 200p.LouBarlow wrote:Don't you have to at some point increase share value if you buy a ton of them. 1) Staff morale is below the all time low with managerial B&H through the roof.
2) The strike was stopped but is still on the cards and is liable to be very long running.
3) RM shares are still being shorted which is likely the primary reason for the share price decrease.
4) The financial press disagree with virtually every aspect of how Rico Black is running the company. They are still saying that the dividend is too high compared to how much profit is made and that too much money is being invested badly into the company.
5) There is no good news within RM. I am sure competent people could run RM well but Rico and his Entourage along with their new parcel strategy is not the direction we should be heading in.

I think most of us believed that when we lost an hour we'd be going home early on a Saturday .... What a Bunch of Deluded diots we were
In my DO they took 12 mins of the start times every day, and I'm sure IF we manage to get another hour knocked of the SSW we'll only have to start another 12 mins later.
The Managers had a Big Finances Brief earlier in the year and have come back with a rocket up their Ass .... Surprise Surprise it happens every year on the run up to the End of The Finacial Year
I'm sure we'll soon start hearing sob stories from RM telling us how hard up they are and they can't afford a wage rise.
Our DOM has recently started "Fixing" the start of any Overtime to the stated End of Duty Time .... With the result that a few people have been caught out. He used to play fair and if you came in 30 minutes early (and actually had work to keep you busy) he was quite happy to pay any Overtime accordingly .... No More ....The Season of Goodwill to all Posties is at an end! So it's a good incentive to start at the Stated Time ....... IF you want to be paid your Overtime.

same in our office . Manger says he has to cut hundreds of hours in the coming weeks. Part timers have already had their hours slashed this week.

Not heard anything in the north yet, can’t say I’m surprised though. Biggest group it will hit will be the people they have took on over the years on the promise they will be done in time to pick the kids up from school, I feel sorry for the part timers also, used and abused then dropped when it suits.
