Can’t help you with your enquiry, other than to say that you are in totally the wrong forum. This is the Post Office forum, most of the people who can actually help won’t be looking. Maybe try ‘Union Room’?

Moved to the union room.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Are you pre-writing the cards before going out on delivery?
Why would you put a card in if you had no items in your hand while you were at the door?

Are You or a partner marking parcel calls in the frame with red cards? If so best stop it. Turn the letters up side down or something. Say Your red card being delivered was accidental and must have been caught behind customers letters which it does sound like what happened.

First thing you need to find out is the date on the card.
Could be an old one.
Could be you carded him then he came to the door.
Could be a lot of things but you've not given us much to go on.
Where the items actually are will mostly determine the level of punishment.

wouldn't have thought they would sack you for it. especially since you're new and everybody makes a mistake. the way I am picking this up is you tried to deliver a couple of packets to an address, no answer so you have dispatched them. you may have delivered to a neighbour but forgot to notify the recipient, or you've took them back to office and put them in callers but they've been misplaced. its one of many things that happen when stuff goes missing.

Wouldn't you have scanned the items on your PDA as not delivered if you put a card through the door?? If so, the manager can find it on their PC.
