Terry Pullinger seeking re-election for DGSP
Five years ago I stood for election to become the Deputy General Secretary Postal and was successful. It seems like the blink of an eye but the job is up for election again and I am standing for a second term. Pictured is a photo from when I was delighted to be elected last time and the letter seeking nominations that I have sent to every postal branch today. Whatever happens next, it has been an honour and a privilege to be the leader of postal workers. Thanks for all the support.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

He would maybe want to take a course on mental health before going for that position again
His speech was totally unacceptable, using the term schizophrenic 3 or 4 times to describe something he doesn’t like ,really doesn’t sit too well

Well, to be fair, he recognised this, and he has apologised for it in his latest video.wf wrote:He would maybe want to take a course on mental health before going for that position again

Who are the other candidates?
Pullinger had two mandates for strike action and was outmanoeuvred on both occasions due to lack of foresight.
Strike action for next Christmas should be the main focus with all Royal Mails cards played well before the time and it hanging over them like the sword of Damocles.

Agreed. You can’t fault Mr Pullingers commitment and drive. Its 100% but I think We need someone as sharp as a razor now.We can’t be outsmarted like last time.SSkUNkY wrote:Who are the other candidates?

Pullinger is a tubthumper always has been, anybody who knows anything about the union knows that Ellis is the smart one but his face doesn't fit as like most RM offices the big gobs get all the best jobs.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

We weren't outsmarted. We can’t be outsmarted like last time.
If you jump off a 20 story building you're not outsmarted by the pavement, it's just an inevitable consequence of your own stupidity.

Sadly, the union is full of bumblers at the top-level, who have been consistently outmanoeuvred by the employer. I think it's insulting that these guys are seeking re-election - personally, I would prefer it if they resigned.

It's something called the Dunning–Kruger effect.taurus88 wrote:Sadly, the union is full of bumblers at the top-level, who have been consistently outmanoeuvred by the employer. I think it's insulting that these guys are seeking re-election - personally, I would prefer it if they resigned.
Basically stupid people don't know that there are things they don't know and therefore think they're smart. Not the exact scientific definition but you get the drift.
In this case the leadership have spent so long in a bubble of sycophantic backslapping and self congrats they don't know that they really don't know what's actually going down.
RM are walking them into a trap with a second ballot, just like they walked them into the social media screw up and then walked them through the courts... twice.
Somebody better wise up and quickly.

So Woody, as you seem to have all the answers, what's the alternative?Woody Guthrie wrote:It's something called the Dunning–Kruger effect.taurus88 wrote:Sadly, the union is full of bumblers at the top-level, who have been consistently outmanoeuvred by the employer.
