I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

She's an actress.
Big Brother is exactly what it is.
Soon they will have us all fitted with electronic tags and be monitoring how much sleep we get, our diets and everything else so they can maximise our physical output to line their pockets.
The moment the Swiss ideology of profiteering was implemented with the appointment of Rico Back the company was indelibly placed on a course of pure short term greed.
Just look at the Second World War where everyone else fought against ethnic cleansing and the removal of Civil Liberties, the Swiss mindset was one of complete indifference so long as they could fill their coffers. Disgusting.

I love the naivety in these threads
It won't stop the runners; why would they? They're not going to force people to wait outside till their starting time, if I was running a business and people want to start early I'm never gonna stop them. My office, like many no doubt, relies on a people coming in early. Frankly, if people are stupid enough to do it then why shouldn't the company take advantage of it. Neither is it going to result in overtime always being paid without any confrontation as I've heard before, if somebody is going over constantly they're gonna be questioned about it like they now. Managers are under constant pressure to cut the overtime bill and that certainly is not going to change. There's going to have to be some kind of manual intervention, because people are still going to be starting early on overtime or taking out additional mail ect. It probably is for the best to be honest on simple health and safety grounds, but there is no good going to come of this for us.

Some do have legitimate reasons too, in some of the big mail centres they have canteens, gyms and staff rooms ect just for people to socialise in. One of the wagon drivers that comes to our place goes in two hours early each day because he goes to the gym and has breakfast.hero22 wrote:how does a clocking in machine stop people coming in earlhy though ? can they not just come in early then clock in at their start time ?

The van delivery trials make me laugh. It's exactly how we delivered parcels prior to park and loop so why are we trialling it?

It needs trialling because they are not just taking a lot of work from you as in return you will get twenty percent, or probably more than hour of additional work, added to your walk. Obviously the time saved from delivering parcels to houses you will go to anyway will be less than the additional work they want to give us. In short it's a fail concept like bench merging so I'm unsure how they will make it work.ihatedogs wrote:The van delivery trials make me laugh.
