pensionable pay

hi guys, has anyone any idea if the opg night allowance will be made fully pensionable. bad enough working with ex phg`s on more night allowance than us but all theirs is fully pensionable as well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It used to be fully pensionable, but was changed so that only half is pensionable under the Way Forward Agreement.

IM NOT FOR THE WAYBACKWARD AT ALL....

But the fact EX PHG's get more because we had a responceable job and earnt the right... So why not be paid more.... Its not right that the monies is paid for the extreme amounts that adam crazier gets as a bonus but it is a fair judge of the time and knowledge EX PHG's know...... AND SENIORITY....

The only people that should be getting fully pensionable night allowance are those that have continuously held nightshift duties from before the way forward came in and I think that applies to both ex-postmen and ex-phg's although the amount of allowance does differ....which brings me to this...

I'm and ex-phg with just under TEN years service. One of my collegues is an ex-postman with TWENTY-SIX years service. We do exactly the same job and follow exactly the same shift pattern now. So if the key word really is seniority why is it I get paid at least £20 more than him for a bare week?

It's not fair and it's not right.....but then again I'm the one that's 20 quid up every week so I don't complain about it that much!

This has always been my argument agains "Grandfather Rights"! It's not fair, and penalises everyone who comes after us. It has nothing to do with Seniority, as if you change to a diffent Shift (or presumably a different Site), you loose those rights.

Why do the CWU still try to use "Grandfather Rights" in negotiations?!?

Dead right, if i move off nights and one day come back to nights i lose the full pensionable, this will also happen to delivery men with their early allow if they move.

well i seem to have opened a can worms here!!!!!!!!! responsability - um -locker men -yes - the rest of the phg grade no- thats why everybody sorts now .
personally ,22 years service, about 15 of these on nights- so pretty senior then guys.
not bothered about the 20 quid ex-phg allowance just want the pensions to be sorted out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we don`t work for rm because we enjoy it- that went out of the window years ago
