I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Why do these people feel the need to include cartoons and graphics in all their bumf. It's like the weather forecast with clouds and suns over where you live. Just tell me, I can understand!

She forgot to say that for every 5 minutes work they take away from delivery duties, they 'll add 30 minutes more.

"NIGHT OWLS"!
Who are all these sad bastards that absolutely NEED to have their plastic throw away crap delivered WITHIN 24 Hrs?
I know I may be a Dinosaur but I can't but help feel this is just a crazy situation that can't continue for ever?
What's happened to all these "Save the Dolphin" campaigns designed to cut down our extravagant consumerism? .... The Single Use Plastics Problem ?....... Congestion & Pollution, from all these Bloody couriers zooming about everywhere in Dodgy vans? ...... That's before you start considering some of the Abysmal Customer Service you get from some on-line retailers. VERY Happy to take your money in .001 of a second but then send you the wrong crap, which becomes a Bigger Drama than Ben Hur when you try and return it!
I firmly believe the On-Line Shopping Phenomenon will come back to Bite us in the Arse! Some Retailers have already started Banning some Customers, because they return too much. Others no longer have FREE Returns Policices, you have to pay. More people find they have to pay for some Deliveries. I'm sure once Amazon have killed off the High Street Shops they'll start to deal with customers differently.
We do need to ensure the survival of a Mail System, and it's Posties, that can adapt to future needs, NOT just the latest trend. I realise Rico, and his Carpet Bagger Buddies, are only interested in the next couple of years profits .... because by then they'd have buggered off to their next Victims.

"...... a pay increase of 10 per cent in the last two years."
The actual pay rises implemented;
April 2017 would normally be the point for the pay review.
In May 2018 the 5% pay increase was awarded & backdated to October 2017.
In October 2018 the first hour was implemented which was effectively a 2.6% increase to the hourly rate.
In April 2019 the 2% pay increase was awarded.
So my calculation is a 9.6% increase over 3 years

In theory the first hour of SWW was a pay increase but only for part time staff.rogersh wrote:"...... a pay increase of 10 per cent in the last two years."

In practice either there was the same amount of work or more work to do so the hour, if not more than that hour was worked, and in a lot of cases that hour would have been worked unpaid.
So it is a 7% pay increase plus if there were years previously without a pay increase then it could be seen as less than a 7% pay increase.
You can polish a turd - but it will still be a turd.

The thing is, you can tell the truth - which is what this video does - and still lie by omission. I've got no problem with RM and the CWU going back to the table, but they did that last year. They came to an agreement that gave the employer the platform to deliver all that they want in respect to this video. That agreement, in the eyes of the CWU and its' members, has not been adhered to. Going forward, the problem is that the majority of staff do not trust the employer to stick to it's word. Hence, ambitions and negotiation aren't exactly the order of the day.

What I would say is that some on here are working against the common good by making this a part time full time issue but the biggest part time, Is management and the higher up you go the less they do and the more they receive Ie the CEO who is not even a citizen of this land and thus possibly does not pay taxation in this land on his package!

Whatever way you interpret the percentage the calculation should be over the period of 3 years not 2 years.Celgar wrote:In theory the first hour of SWW was a pay increase but only for part time staff.rogersh wrote:"...... a pay increase of 10 per cent in the last two years."

the rot at the top must stop, ya full-time bullshitters cos we're sick of yer propaganda propping up YOUR position of authority based purely on utter drivel which you expect us to listen to (worktime learning and listening). i for one cannot stomach your inane patronising falsehoods masquerading as convincing 'truths'. You abrogated our agreement. you pay management a bonus for bullying and harrassing. you deliver us a s**t sandwich when we ballot for IA. Feckoff if you think i would think i could ever trust another manager ever again. total arse!

So all Large Parcels will go to these Super Hubs just one question who is going to separate them from the smaller parcels and just who decides what a Larger Parcel is because it's quite subjective.
They are quite correct that we have the best wages in the business but that applies even more so to management. I am fairly certain that managers in our competitors have not received a £ 1000 bonus for carrying out their job this year or their Chief Executive a £ 5.8 Million to move jobs within the Organisation.
They truly do think we are stupid . " We want to talk and listen to you" Not about us going on strike thanks to them reneging on the last deal
