Just a heads up for anyone who doesn't know already. More than one member of staff at Luton has been suspended over having pictures of barcodes on their mobile phones and allegedly scanning those photos with the PDA rather than the actual codes in the postboxes or the consolidation code at the DO.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

If you get to a box earlier than the time shown on the time plate you could just empty it and change the tab, then anytime after the time shown scan the picture on your phoneDindin wrote: Why would you do that?

Yet at Christmas we send out reserves without a PDA & tell them to take pictures of the barcodes on the parcels & scan them later back at the office
double standards

And it’ll be the foot soldier taking the photos who get into trouble if caught and not the manager who told them to do it.twoloops wrote:Yet at Christmas we send out reserves without a PDA & tell them to take pictures of the barcodes on the parcels & scan them later back at the officedouble standards

bloke in my office, was using photos of the box bar codes when on afternoon collections. he was emptying boxes early, then scanning the photos on his phone. He came to work one day, called into the managers office and was sacked and escorted off the premises.

I would have thought what was on your phone was personal and a Royal mail manager has no right to ask to view it.Celgar wrote:Just a heads up for anyone who doesn't know already. They dont need to, the PDAs track remember and show where the code was scanned..masterblaster wrote:I would have thought what was on your phone was personal and a Royal mail manager has no right to ask to view it.Celgar wrote:Just a heads up for anyone who doesn't know already.
