How long is a Stage 1 warning for sickness active for?

If a worker is requested to move onto another duty from the one chosen in repick for no good reason does he/she have to move and fulfill the request whilst a grievance process is played out, or can they simply refuse to move?

Stage 1 - 6 months.

Can you refuse to move? Your 318 will state "or as directed".
You could refuse to move but depending on your managers be prepared to be suspended and possibly dismissed for failing to follow a reasonable request..
Is it reasonable? It depends how strongly you feel about it.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Basically unless it's a specialist duty that you've not been trained on or you've got a medical reason you can be placed on any section at anytime

Thanks for the replies, I guess regarding the being forced off your duty you can follow the grievance process whilst working on the directed duty? Otherwise repicks would be completely pointless. management are increasingly using this in our delivery office as a result of their own unofficial assessment of 'performance', which is wholly unfair.

been no repick in our office for years and years according to the 30 year lads! is this par for the current spineless middle management tier currently masterminding us onto the rocks of industrial dispute...no people skills in this rmg management at all...purely data driven...our floor walker 'management numbties' throw in walks regularly for the p.t. later starters...rather than resource more staff...total bs. :d'oh! and the union let em get away with it, too!

Keep a note of date and time and which manager moved you from your duty and a note of which duty they put you on.

Keep this and make it known to management what you are doing as this will serve you in good stead when it comes to a B&H case as if it is only you that keeps getting moved they are basically picking on you and leaving the other staff alone. This normally stops the constant moving of you to other duties unless everyone gets moved and it happens at an equal rate.
