In an attempt to undermine a No vote we were asked to vote at WTL on whether or not we wanted to start at 5.15 on saturdays; as you might expect most people put their hand up for yes.You will not be surprised to learn that we were not asked for monday to friday! The CWU rep was on day off today so we have no union line on this so i want to ask the following:

Surely RM now have to give us notice (was it one or three months) to change our start time back to 5.15.

Could i and others refuse to change untill notice has been served (might be fun for me and a pain for management).

Where does the CWU rep stand on this if the majority like starting earlier.

If i refuse to change my times untill notice is up can i be conduct coded.

Can you imagine the fun caused if some come in early to start IPS and some come in at the later time when IPS is mostly finished. I would be interested in any opinions as i am sure it is not just our office involved.

Apparently they are talking about it at our place but DOM wants us to take Mail Sort. I'd rather start late then let them start feeding Mail Sort through on a Saturday as instead of a one off it will become a regular thing.

were at the end of the line so we have agreed to start at 7 am but only take first class on a saturday
thats if a yes vote comes back

Before this disappears does any union rep know whether or not i and a few others can refuse to start earlier again with out notice as at the moment the times suit me and i will be buggered if i will let them change me just cos it suits them to buy a few yes votes in the ballot.

I am not a rep but the agreement states that on a YES vote then we would revert back to earlier starts by local agreement. I very much doubt there would be a situation where an office would be in a position to have staggered starts. We had a meeting where the majority agreed that an earlier start time would be of benefit BUT the overriding factor was what time they were allowed to leave the office.
