harassment, invisible disciplinarys, hell, help
Ok so I’m not a normally a blogger ect but I’m short of options now. I started royal mail 4 years plus ago, and took the job on the basis of hours in terms of childcare. I had an auto immune condition before I started but it had abated before I started. Approx 2 years in that same condition started up again. I had a perfect employment record until this point. It took me out for 3 months, I had all relevant medical documentation to support this i.e doctors and hospital and consultant ect. I got back and had the back to work interview 2 to 3 weeks later. I then got hit with a stage one as a result. The unions advice was not to worry as it will disappear within 6 months, but it hacked me off as I felt I had already suffered enough and I liked my clean job record. So, I got my union guy (who is really good) to put in a grievance as there was no way to appeal a stage one! This was ignored by the dom, and the dom then changed to an intrum dom. He couldn’t be arsed to deal with it, and one day I noticed my old dom was now the area manager, and was upstairs in the offices. Taking my opportunity, I grabbed the rep and went up there. He then subsequently reversed the stage one. I didn’t think any more on it from there and didn’t think to ask for paperwork to support this. Then months later I ended up with another damn bout. When I came back, I had the back to work interview but nothing else, however the dom at the time put a referral through to oh assist without my knoloedge. They came back and said it was covered under dda ect. so later down the line (excuse the time frames I can work them out with my records if needed) I had another bout, this time a serious one. I came back, the new and now the same and current dom wanted another referral (no idea why), but sent it off without my knowledge or consent, which hacked off ohs when they called. When they did call, they told me the referral was as a result of a stage 3 dismissal request! I was on a stage 1 and that was overturned! Furious I wanted this solved. Net result of 2 years of ridiculousness adjusted duties, total change in job hours which being a single parent is a nightmare, I asked the union and the dom why they couldn’t just make the duty smaller or another duty that’s smaller rather than keep making it bigger. Both said no otherwise everyone else would want the same! no comment there. I had another bout, came back after 2 weeks, now another referral on the basis of dismissal on stage 3, still no damn meetings for disciplinary’s! he deliberately waited until I was on holiday after the return to work to put that through, once again without my knowledge. I went to see him, he leaves the building once I go out on rounds and collections. The union guy isn’t back until hes left so getting a rep is a nightmare. I’m sick of being on a knife edge, in a roll that’s killing me with my kid, whilst slowly being less able to breathe. Its blatantly illegal not to follow basic steps in disciplinary action, Jesus I’m being given them without even knowing it. The dom is saying he "thinks there legit". I got a manager on the sly to check my records for the paperwork, shockingly enough there is none. My union tells me he can’t do squat until they produce the paperwork to go up for a meeting, but they haven’t yet, and don’t bother to do so for the disciplinary’s so I can’t see that happening. I don’t deserve to be treated like this, I worked my ass off as best I could, took the compulsory overtime when I was on my rounds (ok so it’s not described as that but it is when your new and your line manger dumps more on and then refuses to listen to why you can’t complete). This is not right, illegal, and frankly royal mail are supposed to be a disability equal employer, there’s no way that’s the case. I honestly have hit a wall with this and don’t even want to work for a company like this anymore, so I went up to the guy this morning, and told him ill just elect for the ihr and find an office job elsewhere. They way it’s being handled I figured that’s what he wanted anyway. I cleared it with my union guy beforehand on the phone and said I’m stuck in a stage 3 dismissal loop that I didn’t even accrue, but the computer system says I’m stage 3 so that’s that apparently, and it seems to me they just want me to leave with the proceeding. He tell me he’s not sure as I’m too young really. WTH does age have to do with this? so now we are going to discriminate on that too?????? I said the ohs guys that have all rang me said I could go down that route, less the last one said the referral was on the basis of dismissal only so I would need another one done with ihr in there to get them to do that. All that needs to be done is the referral now, but apparently that’s a problem. He started to talk about another job, and I said yes but its physical again, he said yes, I said so how does that help? he said I’ll think about this and get back to you (which he won’t), but he wants to get the area union guy in to deal with a stage 3 as its very serious as this point!!!! I told him I didn’t want to as after 18 months of that issue I can’t be bothered to entertain it the damage is done so what’s the point if its ihr at this point. So, I’ve informed the union guy again as the normal ones off on holiday, he’s going to speak to him. I asked do you think we can get this done this week. lol you know royal mail the cogs turn slowly here! ffs I can’t keep this up much longer, my illness is actually impacted by stress, this really hasn’t helped one iota. I’m asking for a subject access request today when I can figure out the correct place to send it in regards to these "disciplinary’s". Short of leaving if he blocks the referral which blocks the ihr am I expected to just bugger off? anyone any ideas at this stage as I’m out of them now??????

First of all, contacting oh assist has to be with your permission . That's written down in the attendance procedure. Any stages you were put on must be in writing , all of this should be in agreement with your union rep. Never never never go to any meetings with your Dom or management without your rep present. To get ihr you really need to be off sick not working , ihr is not up to your Dom it's hr domain. They can offer you alternative jobs within royal mail they consider you fit for. If your not fit for work you will need medical proof of this. I'm no expert, but this sort of thing is common within RM. I hope things work out for you.
