Left in June I feel 10 years younger already. After nearly 36 years a decent amount offered
so had to go before the brown stuff hits everything.

Depending on the sum, I would seriously consider it. I would then go to college/uni, or retrain in a trade while working a PT job to help tick things over.
I enjoy working for RM, but other than trainee manager, the career progression opportunities for delivery are nill, unless you have degree level qualifications and apply for the graduate scheme. So with that in mind, for me it would be a bittersweet occasion - leaving, but receiving a nice little bonus.

Yep if they want to save yet more money in my office I would go tomorrow, after 37 years and aged 58 it’s starting to become a gutty slog, and constantly doing battle with management on what you can and can’t do within your start and finish time is wearing a bit thin now, other young ones with a rush about attitude like lunatics, don’t help at all,so I would gladly go for the right money,

The fact of the matter is no but people don't take likely to being treated like s**t hence the short fall in these jobs we all need to live but to die doing so is not part of one's plans and aspirations while greed is celebrated it's the workers that pay the price in this land. It is time people woke up and ditch the capitalism that sows them to the needs of production and devastates their protection and evolution!chickenwittle wrote:But are there actually many jobs that get better over time ?Teachers , fireman , police taxi drivers always moaning too.Brandy wrote:It just sounds as if this once wonderful job is getting worse, ruined by one thing. C'mon , I'm sure everyone is capable of doing the job until they're 75. At least that's whats being talked about for the state pension anyway. Lol. Imagine a 75 yr old postie!

This isn't capitalism... it's corporatism.k979aaa wrote:The fact of the matter is no but people don't take likely to being treated like s**t hence the short fall in these jobs we all need to live but to die doing so is not part of one's plans and aspirations while greed is celebrated it's the workers that pay the price in this land. Now that redundancy is worked out as the same for everybody in the company no matter how long you have worked here. It might be that seniority doesn’t count for anything if it comes to job losses. Last in first out usually applies in most other jobs. I think people that have waited for vr for the last 5/10 years could be in for a nasty shock.
