whats happening is this
prepping 4 duties workload dictates how long we get on each duty
mgmt are using (estimated ) mech count in trays and using 32 items per min (individual per rate per min ) to determine how long we should take with each duty
so we may get 15min 16min 20 min 9 min all worked out at 32 per min
is this correct way
mgmt say its the correct method using iwt as agreed by cwu
i dont think so were not f***ing robots
can anyone enlighten me please

Where have they got 32 from?

The 1 minute test is 25. I don't think this has ever been changed, even after the introduction of sequenced mail.
A 10% relaxation allowance would take you to 22/minute, which is reasonable.
Do you have porters?

If they are saying it is agreed, ask to see the agreement.

Ive never known anyone fail a prep test but looking at the IWT figures many posties are failing everyday. According to those figures, it should only take me 40 minutes to fully prep a duty......It takes me that long to get the mech in sometimes, but not the packets marked, redirections, sorting out the missorts,the buddy trays etc etc

As your frame becomes full the amount per minute is reduced, the 1 minute test rate is for an empty single slotted frame only.

ask a manager to prove it can be done in 40mins. tell him/her you want to see it done. then you/they can't argue.
