Footwear

Evening all what's everyone preferred footwear, does anyone have any ideas about longer lasting footwear I've been in 4 months and gone through 1 pair and nearly a second already the soles don't seem to last very long on my round that is approx 10 to 11 miles a day, any recommendations would be helpful royal mail or buying my own

I use Merrells. The GTX MOAB boots in winter and the Ventilators in the summer. I get about 4mths wear out of them before going in the bin or resigning them to the garden pile. I get the boot for about £75 when on offer and the shoes for about £55. I find these are the most hard wearing from trying other brands and styles etc. The Vibram soles are a little chunkier than other soles, about 5mm depth. They are rugged enough for what we do and provide a good amount of support for my feet ad good grip over the varied ground. They are also comfy enough to wear straight out of the box with no wearing in.

Always worn RM standard issue and have had enough of them. Just bought a pair of Nike Revolution 4, 35 quid from SportsDirect, and worn them for 1st time today. Extremely comfortable, lightweight and so far so good. Not waterproof but neither are any of RMs and not sure how long they're going to last for but at a guess reckon they should do me for 2 or 3 months hopefully, any longer and it'll be a nice bonus. Will look to invest in some waterproof footwear for the winter.

just had the Royal mail footwear roadshow at our office today last trials of footwear didn't get enough feedback from people so they trying again. wearing own footwear without docs note a big no no and yes they are waterproof apart from the hole in the top as rain drips off shorts into shoe so we were told and shoes should be replaced when needed not just a pair every 6 months
