Bank Holidays in Lieu

Currently have just over 18hrs of Bank Holiday lieu time, accrued throughout the last 8 months. Can I claim all this as overtime pay in a single week, or spread it over a few weeks? Asked the question already in office but answer's a bit vague

My understanding is that you have to request it as an OT payment as soon as you find out you're not getting a day off the week of the holiday i.e. request
it as an OT payment to your manager the week before the holiday when he/she says 'You're working 5 days next week'.

So the 18 hours you've been credited have to be booked as time off now - not OT payment (as far as I'm aware - if I'm wrong someone will
no doubt correct me).

EDIT: In fact you don't have to 'request' it as OT, it's your right to take it as OT if you wish at the time (rather than TOIL) - but it
has to be when you find out you're working.

You either work it as overtime the week of the bank holiday or you get the hours credited to your holiday allowance to try and book!
