I have been signed to my rotational duty since January of this year, but have been pretty accomodating regarding moving to another duty should the regular be working their day off. Recently however, I've feel like management are taking the piss with me. Moving me without asking etc. and putting me on duties that I've never worked on before. Basically they are treating me as a reserve and I'm getting fed up with it.
I am going to speak to my manager later this week about no longer moving, but was speaking to a collleague this morning in a similar situation and he told me that our manager had basically told him that due to the new flexibility (which I wasn't aware had been agreed!), we could be moved about without having any say in the matter. I would goto my rep first to ask advice, but he is currently on leave so I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice. I'd like to be armed with all the relevant information for when I go and see my manager.
On a related point, I'm also getting hassle from my colleagues who's duties I cover, if I only want to work to my time and their duty is not cleared. Any time I want to finish for my time I tell the manager I need assistance, and he either tells me he'll get someone to take part of the delivery for me, or he'll get me to stream (M3 & PP2). Now I understand it isn't great to come into a couple of trays of mail in the morning, but if they have a problem why aren't they getting onto the manager for failing to clear the delivery instead of getting on to me about it? They may be willing to work all the hours going to clear their deliveries each day, but I'm happy just to work my hours and only do overtime when it suits. Rant over !!!

best advice is either wait until your workplace rep is back off leave and raise it with him or if you cant wait contact area rep or branch sec for help and advice

Moved off your duty onto a different duty is normal in my office, senuior managment have realised this is not effcient and intend to get more reserves staff trained and are trying to bring in fixed duties. We still operate a rotate system on duties. We each hold two duties and rotate between the 2 duties we hold. The exceptions to this are the floaters which are fixed and AG staff are also fixed.
