Reserves being sent to other delivery offices

Been working as a reserve for a few months now. Recently, one of the managers has taken to sending me text messages about two hours before my start time, instructing me to work at a different delivery office for the day and to make my own way there.

Is this correct procedure, or should I be making my way to my usual place of work and taking a RM vehicle to whichever office they need me to go to?

you have answered your own question.

you don't have the correct insurance to use your own car (business insurance), so you should still go to your normal office at your normal start time and get your DOM to get you to where he wants you to work, and then get you back to your home DO on time to leave the office at your normal finishing time.

Refuse. Speak to your union rep if your not happy. I would try and sign for a duty as soon as it comes up to maintain stability within your office at least

Of course it’s no correct! It’s from a corrupt fraudulent manager who hasn’t a clue on proper procedure and clearly taking the mick yet again,so as they have said start from yo office travel in a van or get a bored boss to take and return you back within your duty time

The latter. RM responsibility to transport you there and back within your duty time. Never use your own transport even if you have the relevant business insurance cover. Always start from your own DO then go from there to the other office.

You don’t have to use your own car but have to travel 30 mins each way in your own time

Drive to other DO in your own time? If it takes longer than your normal driving time to your normal office then surely that should be included within your hours or overtime paid, whichever it is. The managers don't like it and try to argue that's what the mileage is for.

This is wrong. They have to supply the transport but you have to go over 30 mins each way for it to be included in your duty time. That’s reserves, part time or full time.

If they insist in the swings and roundabout of 2011 agreement you could come into your place of work and start half hour later but since they use agreements and not abide by them why should you!

We had a classic on Thursday one of our spares went to another office and she wasn't needed ? So phones our office back says am not needed, office is about 4 mile away and our DIM says ok just go home???????

and we end up lapsing 2 duties F@@@ SAKE WHAT IS GOING ON

The correct procedure is to start and finish at your own office with transport provided. If this 30 min rule is true, then surely it's irrelevant?

This is nonsense. You start and finish at your own office at the contracted times. Travelling forms part of that working day.
