Could this be a sign of impending action? - I recall if a ballot is due to take place all details on members must be up to date.

No I think its because of a massive fine imposed on BA over the GDPR rules(£183 million) .
The Union may be checking they have the correct details for you to ensure they don't get the same treatment, but until we see the mail out its impossible to say with certainty.

A colleague told me it is an annual details check.
