can you tell me if we are suposed to be a democratic union , why is the cwu is suporting remain or a second vote when we have already had a democratic vote on brexit . It seems to me that the top men in the union seem to have voted remain and dont like the result . I have been in the union for 25 years and have always suported the union now i think they have stabbed the working man in the back same as labour

Didn’t know that they had, anyway these things are decided at conference by a democratic process. CWU prime objective is to protect jobs and living standards of its members. I would imagine that any motions passed would reflect that.

It might be because the CWU can see that leaving the EU would cause thousands of job losses, meaning that lots and lots of 'working' men would no longer be 'working'.
